NJ Weekly Fishing Report

Auto-generated conditions summary for all New Jersey coastal zones — live data, zone scores, water temps, and species activity updated every Friday morning.

Shore Report's weekly fishing conditions report covers all major New Jersey saltwater fishing zones from Sandy Hook in the north to Cape May in the south, plus the offshore canyon zone at Hudson Canyon. Each report is automatically generated from live marine and weather data including sea surface temperature, wind speed, wave height, and barometric pressure.

The zone scoring system rates each area from 0 to 100 based on current conditions — GO FISH (68–100) means conditions are favorable for most species, BORDERLINE (42–67) means fishing is possible but conditions are less than ideal, and STAY IN (0–41) means conditions are poor or potentially dangerous. Canyon zones are scored with stricter thresholds given the longer offshore run involved.

Water temperature is the primary driver of species activity in NJ waters. The report includes which species are currently in their optimal feeding temperature range based on the current sea surface temperature reading for the NJ coast.
